As digital transformation accelerates in the construction industry, Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) is leading the way with smart, connected maintenance solutions.
At the heart of this approach is predictive maintenance, enabled by condition monitoring, analytics, and over 20 years of machine data. One of the standout tools is ConSite – a suite of digital applications including ConSite Pocket, ConSite Shot, and the oil condition monitoring sensor. Together, these tools provide real-time insights into machine health, reduce unplanned downtime, and extend component life.
“We are developing a predictive system to further reduce the total cost of ownership and enhance reliability,” explains Arthur da Rocha Geremia, HCME Product Manager. ConSite uses performance data like oil condition, fuel consumption, and operating hours to help fleet managers anticipate issues before they occur – minimising repair costs and keeping machines running efficiently.
HCME is also advancing research in predictive maintenance. Through collaboration with TU Delft, new models are being developed to estimate component lifespan on mining equipment, using sensor data from real machines.
“Our mining machines track key indicators like temperature and pressure,” adds Daan van Berkel, Manager Mining Projects. “This helps us contribute to safer and more cost-effective operations.”
Remote diagnostics via Global e-Service and the ConSite Pocket app enable real-time monitoring from anywhere – from idle time and CO₂ emissions to fault alerts. Dealers can also access diagnostics instantly, speeding up service and reducing downtime.
To enhance fleet-wide visibility, LANDCROS Connect – HCME’s new platform for mixed-brand fleets – allows users to view and manage all equipment data from a single dashboard. With geofencing, report generation, and multilingual support, it’s a powerful tool for today’s contractors.
